International Society of Primerus Law Firms

International Practice Committee

Primerus International member firms and U.S. member firms holding an international license have collaborated to form the Primerus International Practice Committee. The goal of this group is to intensify interaction between the firms in order to better service in-house counsel and corporate clients with international needs.

International Society of Primerus Law Firms, Resolution of the Primerus International Practice Committee on the UNIDROIT Principles of International Commercial Contracts 2016, officially endorsed by the International Society of Primerus Law Firms, on 20 July 2020.

International Practice Committee Resources

This group will host calls every Tuesday of the month. There will be several different types of calls as outlined below.

Upcoming Calls Hosted by the IPC

Elephant Calls: Elephants are known for their stature and size. Similarly, the International Practice Committee Elephant calls will be the larger call of the month for this group. Every first Tuesday of the month, The Primerus International Practice Committee plans to dedicate time to get to know each other better, as member firms of Primerus. In each of these “elephant meetings” the committee will interview approximately 5 – 10 member firms. These interviews will enable all on the call to get a better understanding of the member firms, their location, and their specialty areas. All IPC members are encouraged to join these 90-minute calls. The dates of the calls are listed below.

Competence Cluster (Giraffe) Meetings: Giraffes are known for their long necks. Similarly the Primerus competence cluster meetings will enable Primerus members to look across the fences of national borders to discuss commonalities in practice areas. These meetings will be used to connect professionals within specific practice areas. Each week the International Practice Committee will focus on (initially) two different practice areas and will hold concurrent breakout sessions, following a 10-15-minute general meeting. Members who practice in the highlighted area or competency that week are encouraged to join – whether they are a beginner or proficient in that area of law. Practice Area Forms – Click Here

Kangaroo Meeting: The goal of the IPC is that we get to know each other and our expertise better. But even if the world is growing together, especially in these pandemic times, we cannot solve the balancing act of bridging the time zones of Australia, Germany, Singapore and the Eastern/Central Standard Time of New York, Tennessee and Mexico. For that reason, we are scheduling this kangaroo meeting to better accommodate our Asia Pacific Group.

Owl Call: These regularly scheduled meetings will spend time delving into a broad range of topics and showcasing the vast knowledge and wisdom of the Primerus membership.

Panda Call: The goal of the IPC is that we get to know each other and our expertise better. But even if the world is growing together, especially in these pandemic times, we cannot solve the balancing act of bridging the time zones for everyone to be able to join at the same times. For that reason, we are scheduling this panda meeting to better accommodate the meeting of the Europe, Middle East & Africa and Asia Pacific Groups.
