Labor and Employment Practice Group

The employment relationship has undergone increasing scrutiny and has changed dramatically over the past several years.  Evolving workplace trends, emerging case law, increasing emphasis on regulatory compliance, and changes in the scope of privacy rights make it necessary for businesses to pay attention to laws impacting labor and employment.  In the United States, keeping up with these laws is challenging as the field of labor and employment law is a complex and interlocking web of both state and federal law.  Each state maintains its own set of laws and is additionally governed by state federal regulatory authorities, including the Department of Labor, the National Labor Relations Board, and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, as well as a federal circuit court system which is established according to geographic regions. Internationally, it is equally as challenging to stay abreast of the latest with each countries’ specific labor and employment law framework, making cross border increasingly more difficult.

Primerus member firms are an international collection of labor and employment lawyers from independent firms who collaborate with one another to offer seamless and comprehensive multi-jurisdictional service to their clients. Primerus’s labor and employment lawyers represent employers and management executives in litigation and administrative proceedings, preventive counseling and compliance services, audits and training, contract drafting, review and implementation, and dispute resolution.  Human resource professionals and management executives utilize the services of Primerus members in order to navigate the many federal, state, and local laws that impact the employment relationship and to manage their risk in avoiding protracted and costly litigation.  These services are provided by our Primerus member firms efficiently and without the large law firm price tag.
