Collins & Lacy, P.C. is pleased to announce Ellen M. Adams has been elected managing partner of the statewide business defense law firm. As managing partner, Adams joins an elite group. Only 15 percent of managing partners in law firms across the country are women, according to the American Bar Association (ABA). Adams, whose 20 year career at Collins & Lacy has involved more than 1,000 cases, was elected by her peers to lead the firm.

Adams is a native of Cayce, S.C. She received her Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law. She has argued cases to the Full Workers’ Compensation Commission, Circuit Court, Court of Appeals and Supreme Court. She has been repeatedly named one of the Best Lawyers in America©.

“Ellen’s election as managing partner shows our firm’s faith in her abilities as a lawyer and a leader. I look forward to seeing what we accomplish next under her leadership,” said Stan Lacy, who co-founded the firm in 1984 with Joel Collins.

Adams says her first order of business is to enable the firm to continue to do what it already does, which is effectively and efficiently serve clients across the state of South Carolina.

“We are noted for our youthful energy, talent, teamwork, diversity and know-how,” says Adams.  “At Collins & Lacy, we have earned our reputation with uncompromising commitment to helping South Carolina businesses stay in business. I look forward to being a strategic part of our firm’s continued growth and commitment to serving the South Carolina business community.”
