No! You do not need a fixed address to register to vote or vote on election day. Your registration address may be any of the following: 

• A homeless shelter to which you regularly return
• A temporary place for living that you are a resident of (halfway house, transitional housing, etc.)
• The county courthouse in the county in which you reside
• A general delivery address for a post office covering the location where you are a resident

REMEMBER: A person who is otherwise qualified to vote shall NOT be refused registration or declared not qualified to vote because the person does not live in a permanent, private or fixed structure.

A voter card simply confirms you are registered to vote. You do not need a voter card to vote on election day. 

A valid photo ID must be present with you to vote. 

Valid forms of photo ID include: 

• Driver’s license or state ID card issued by state
• Federal, state, county or local government-issued photo ID
• U.S. passport
• Military photo ID card
• Student photo ID card from an educational institution
• Tribal photo ID card
• Local or county issued government ID
• Concealed pistol license

You may use voter guides and sample ballots before Election Day to learn who, and what, will be on the ballot. Voter guides and sample ballots include the candidates and the state or local issues up for a vote. You may also bring paper copies of voter guides, sample ballots, and any notes into the voting booth with you on Election Day.

No! You are not required to place a vote for everything on the ballot. You may pick and choose what you decide to vote for. Your votes and ballot will still be valid if partially filled out.
