Lawrence has counseled clients on a wide spectrum of business litigation and transactional legal matters, including corporate structuring, mergers and acquisitions, tax analysis, intellectual property, regulatory and government affairs, and other emergent technology issues. His latest experience was as Vice President of Legal and Business Affairs for a start-up software developer in the Blockchain and Secure File Storage/Sharing space.
In addition, Mr. Balanovsky has experience advising clients on commercial litigation issues when transactions and business relationships break down. Clients appreciate his understanding of navigating contract disputes, shareholder disputes, enforcement of intellectual property, and other business disputes. His breadth of litigation experience informs his transactional practice with an outlook on minimizing risk of litigation and protecting his clients.
Mr. Balanovsky graduated with both his J.D. and LLM in Taxation from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law, and holds a Certificate in Business Law from the same institution. Lawrence also holds a B.A. in Economics, with a focus on Econometrics and statistical analysis, and another in International Studies, concentrating in International Trade, as well as South Asian and Eastern European political history, both earned at Emory University.
Lawrence is proud of his Nevada roots, having graduated Valedictorian from The Meadows School in Las Vegas. He is passionate about giving back to the community and has been an active Child Advocacy Project (CAP) attorney with Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada since 2019. Mr. Balanovsky is a fluent speaker of Russian and has intermediate proficiency in Spanish. He is an avid film buff and foodie.
