2026 Theme

The Past, The Legacy, and The Path Forward

For more than three decades, Primerus has made a single argument to the legal marketplace: That the finest lawyers in the world should be measured by their standard, not by their size. It began with founder Jack Buchanan's conviction that the practice of law deserved better than what was being sold, and it has been carried since by firms across the globe who chose the harder standard because it was the right one. In Boston this October, you will help decide what Primerus becomes as we move forward together.

The 2026 Global Conference is where we take the full stock of our society. The past is the record: How we got here. The legacy is the obligation: What we owe the lawyers who will inherit it. The path forward is the work: The markets we have yet to reach, the technology reshaping every practice we represent, and the clients whose problems no longer stop at a border.

This will be the meeting Primerus is fully itself. A defense partner from New Orleans, a transactional partner from Frankfurt, a litigator from São Paulo, and a firm leader from Singapore all in the same room, under the same standard, working the same problems from different sides of the map with one throughline: Primerus. Those conversations do not happen on a video call, and they do not happen anywhere else. They will happen in Boston. Will you be there?

Rainmaking in the Age of AI – the Most Human Lawyer Wins

This presentation brings together AI, emotional intelligence (EQ), and ethics to challenge attorneys to rethink how they build a book of business in an era where AI is reshaping the practice of law – because the lawyers who win aren’t the ones who use AI the most; they’re the ones who remain the most human. It covers how to ethically integrate AI into business development, what the model rules require (and permit), and why EQ is your greatest competitive differentiator when technology levels the playing field.

The Leadership Model Is Broken

Three Generations. One Conversation. Your Firm Depends on It.

The rules that built successful firms over the last 30 years are no longer enough. Partners are frustrated... Associates are leaving...Clients expect something different...Future leaders aren't responding to yesterday's leadership playbook. The easy answer is to blame another generation. The smart answer is to understand why they're different…and what great firms are doing about it. Join three generations of legal leaders for an unfiltered discussion about trust, leadership, accountability, expectations, and the future of the profession. Because the firms that learn to bridge the gap will attract the best people, retain the best clients, and build the strongest legacy.
And the firms that don't...won't.

The future of your firm won't be decided in court. It'll be decided by how well your generations work together.
