Joseph M. Morris’ practice at Roberts Perryman focuses on insurance coverage, insurance defense, and extra-contractual liability litigation. Joseph also works with the firm's malpractice defense and appellate teams. Joseph has nearly a decade of experience in defending insurance companies, insureds, and analyzing complex insurance coverage questions, as well as experience pursuing claims of contribution on behalf of insurers.
Prior to joining Roberts Perryman, Joseph clerked for several years for the Honorable Lisa Van Amburg at the Missouri Court of Appeals, Eastern District. Joseph also has prior experience in areas of practice that include the representation of taxpayers, business organization and formations, and federal contracting.
Joseph obtained an undergraduate degree in History from Boston University. He then lived in Tokyo, Japan for several years where he worked for a real estate management company before returning to the United States to study law in 2006. Joseph graduated from California Western School of Law in 2009. While in law school he was a member of the dean’s list, and the pro bono honors society. In his third year he participated in a clinical internship with Nishimura & Asahi, in Tokyo, Japan, where he worked with the team’s cross-border transactions and capital markets teams. He also worked as a summer associate for the Law Offices of Toda & Co., a maritime firm located in Tokyo, Japan.
Joseph was born and raised in St. Louis and is an alum of University City High School. He enjoys gardening, soccer, and is a board member for the non-profit corporation Aikido Saint Louis.
