Melody M. Block is an associate in Mandelbaum Barrett's Corporate Law Practice Group.

Melody focuses her practice on business entity formation, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, commercial transactions and corporate governance concerns, frequently for start-ups, family-owned businesses and closely-held businesses. She also advises dental groups, veterinary groups and physicians across the country in the acquisition and sale of professional practices. Having previously worked as a commercial litigator, Melody is well-equipped to advise on contract and employment law concerns, with an eye towards avoiding potential litigation. Prior to joining the Firm, Melody worked at a prominent New Jersey regional firm litigating significant matters. Melody began her career as a Law Clerk for the Honorable Allison Accurso, J.A.D., Superior Court of New Jersey, Appellate Division.

While in law school, Melody was selected to serve on the Editorial Board of the Rutgers Law Record and interned with the Honorable Esther Salas, United States District Court Judge for the District of New Jersey. She also served as a Student Attorney at the Rutgers Education and Health Law Clinic where she advocated for the rights of children with disabilities.

Melody graduated from Rutgers Law School, where she earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude. She is admitted to practice in New Jersey and New York. Melody received her B.A. from Trinity College and post-graduation she received a Fulbright Grant to work as an English Teaching Assistant in La Guajira, Colombia. Melody is also fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.

Melody is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, the Hispanic Bar Association and the New Jersey Women Lawyers Association.
