Jack is a highly experienced commercial law specialist with a difference. Whilst he specialises in mergers and acquisitions, he also has a deep comprehension of exchange control matters, the Companies Act, the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment Act and telecommunications and broadcasting law. In addition, he has substantial tax knowledge having acted as Tax Chairperson adjudicating on income tax appeals lodged by tax payers with the South African Revenue Service (SARS) for 10 years.
Jack advises clients on corporate and commercial transactions including sales of shares and businesses, shareholders agreements and transactions involving broad-based black economic empowerment and corporate governance.
His international and local client list is varied across all commercial sectors and includes listed and non-listed companies.
Jack obtained his M.B.A at the University of the Witwatersrand where he also completed his B.A., LL.B. and LL.M. degrees. In addition, he obtained his Certificate in Advanced Corporate Law and Securities Law at the University of South Africa and his M.Com. degree in South African and International Tax at North West University.
