Avery is an associate in the Birmingham office and represents clients in civil litigation, focusing primarily on Transportation, Insurance, Insurance Defense, and Product Liability. Originally from Madison, Alabama, Avery graduated magna cum laude from The University of Alabama with a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations with minors in Mandarin Chinese and Political Science. She was an Alpha Kappa Psi Business Fraternity member and a Kappa Delta sorority member.
After graduation, Avery worked for U. S. Senator Doug Jones in Washington, D.C., before attending law school at Samford University Cumberland School of Law, where she earned her Juris Doctorate. At Cumberland, Avery was President of Cumberland’s Public Interest and Community Service Organization (CPICS), was a member of the National Trial Team, a member of the Black Law Student Association (BLSA), and a Veterans Clinic Student Representative. Avery received Scholar of Merit and CALI awards in Jury Selection and Mediator Advocacy.
Outside of work, Avery enjoys spending time with friends, family, and her cat, Miss Sage. She also enjoys being active, taking fitness classes, and trying new restaurants in the city.
