Simon Rigby is an experienced legal adviser with a proven track record in resolving disputes and contractual issues. He is based in the firm’s Sydney office.
With over thirty years’ experience in advising corporate, not for profit and institutional clients, Simon has achieved successful outcomes not only in contesting disputed matters but in helping to prevent costly disputes before they arise.
He has a particular knowledge of issues arising in the areas of contractual dispute, misleading or deceptive conduct, publication and institutional claims. He assists his long-term clients with a wider range of issues and ensures that they receive the expert advice that the situation calls for whether with his own expertise or with the input of his specialist colleagues.
Simon acts for clients in a wide range of industries and sectors including media, finance, insurance, manufacturing, charity and education.
He is approachable, reliable and pragmatic and brings these qualities to legal issues on a daily basis.

Professional Achievements
- Simon obtained a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Sydney in 1986 and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Sydney in 1988.
- Simon was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 1989.
- In the early part of his career, Simon was a senior associate at Deacons (now Norton Rose Fulbright)
- In subsequent years, Simon enjoyed lengthy stints as partner at Cowley Hearne (now Thomson Geer), Holman Webb and Eakin McCaffery Cox.
- Simon joined Carroll & O’Dea Lawyers as a Senior Legal Counsel in 2024.
