Penny has received her LL.B degree from the University of Tongji as well as the LL.M degree from the University of Sheffield in the fields of International, European and Commercial Law. She has also obtained a diploma for PgDL study at the College of Law of the England and Wales.

Penny has practiced in the merge and acquisition, foreign direct investment, capital market and finance with the US, the British and German law firm as a corporate lawyer in their Shanghai offices. Penny has qualified for over 14-year experience and mainly served the cross-border companies in various industries such as manufacturing, chemicals and materials, energy, IT, consulting, pharmacy, retail, and e-commerce.

Her experience includes to advise various cross-border companies in their establishing, structuring, or negotiating of joint ventures (JVs), wholly foreign-owned enterprises, and limited liability partnership enterprises; advise in the acquisition of shares or assets of foreign invested entities (FIEs); advise domestic companies in their overseas investment.

Penny has also represented Chinese issuers (Red Chip companies) or underwriters in Hong Kong IPOs and worked as legal counsels for the Chinese entities of overseas multinational companies in the real estate, software development, and retail industries.
