Thomas Paschos Coaches Merion Mercy Academy's Mock Trial Team

Thomas Paschos & Associates, P.C. (Haddonfield, NJ) is pleased to announce that name partner Thomas Paschos is assisting the Merion Mercy Academy by volunteering to serve as a coach for the school's Mock Trial Team. Merion Mercy Academy is an all girls highschool located in Merion, PA.

Starting January 24, Merion Mercy Academy will be one of 289 Pennsylvania high schools that will compete in district and regional levels of the Pennsylvania Bar Association Young Lawyers Division’s Statewide Mock Trial Competition.

Only 12 of the 338 teams that are competing in the district and regional levels of the contest will continue on to the statewide competition, which will be taking place in Harrisburg, PA on March 25 and 26. The remaining two teams will move on to the national Mock Trial finals where they will represent the state of Pennsylvania in Phoenix, Ariz., this spring.

This year’s hypothetical case is a civil action involving a pathologist who enters into a contract with a dying and poor old woman to get her mutated cancer cells.

Pennsylvania’s program, now in its 27th year, is one of the nation’s biggest.
