Russell Advocaten (Amterdam, The Netherlands), is pleased to announce that, on Monday, January 17, 2011, the firm held their traditional New Year’s reception, for the 28th year in succession. Some 700 guests attended.

Once again, guests included many leading personalities. Among them several politicians, such as the Dutch Minister of Economic Affairs, Innovation and Agriculture and Deputy Prime Minister Maxime Verhagen, the Minister of the Interior Piet Hein Donner, the former Secretary of NATO Jaap de Hoop Scheffer, and former Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende. Russell Advocaten was also happy to welcome ambassadors from 20 countries, many leading Dutch business personalities as well as the mayors of different cities in the Netherlands.

On Wednesday January 19th, 2011 the event was featured in a large article along in The Netherland's national newspaper, “De Telegraaf," which has roughly 800 thousand  subscribers and over 2 million readers). Additionally, on Thursday January 20th, 2011, an article appeared in the leading Dutch financial daily newspaper, “Het Financieele Dagblad,” which has approximately 60 thousand subscribers and over 100 thousand readers.

The firm explained, "We have just taken a major step. Russell Advocaten joined Primerus, an American network of 160 offices in 23 countries with 2000 lawyers. We have fifteen lawyers. However, as we are also entrepreneurs, we are also excellent sparring-partners in the board room." They continued in saying, "Reinier Russell, meanwhile also Consul of Brazil and Secretary of the Amsterdam Consular Corps currently is involved in charity work. He is a board member of the Holland American Friendship Foundation, that will hold its annual fundraising dinner at Evert Louwman’s car museum in The Hague.”
