BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (August 9, 2016) – The law firm of Christian & Small LLP, headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama, announced today that LaBella S. Alvis., a partner in the firm, has been appointed to fill a vacancy on the Alabama Board of Bar Commissioners as Bar Commissioner Circuit 10. Alvis will hold this term for two years.

The Board of Bar Commissioners is the governing and policy-making body of the Alabama State Bar and is comprised of 74 members. It has the authority to promulgate and enforce rules relating to admissions, rules of ethics and discipline of its membership.

Alvis has a strong passion for going to court and has been doing so for more than 30 years. In her professional liability practice, she has handled hundreds of EEOC and employment liability claims, medical malpractice defense and construction liability matters. She also has significant experience with aviation, commercial transportation, health care, insurance coverage, and liquor liability cases.
