Krevolin & Horst, LLC is pleased to announce that Jonathan E. Hawkins has joined the firm as Partner. Jonathan’s arrival is a welcomed addition to the firm’s litigation practice, which continues to thrive as a top litigation practice in Atlanta.
Jonathan was most recently with Foltz Martin Knapp, LLC, also based in Atlanta, where he was a highly regarded partner. Jonathan has an extensive background in complex business litigation representing individuals and businesses as plaintiffs and defendants in disputes in state and federal courts, arbitrations, and mediations. While he focuses his practice on business divorces and shareholder and partnership disputes, Jonathan also handles business fraud and commercial tort cases, contract disputes, and real estate disputes.
“Jonathan is a natural fit for us,” says Co-founder and Partner, Jeff Horst. “Like all of our other litigators, he has excellent credentials and clerked for a federal judge. He has handled a variety of complex litigation matters and has trial experience. He adds additional depth and breadth to our litigation team. We are thrilled to welcome him as a partner.”
Before attending the University of Georgia School of Law, where he was Managing Editor of the Georgia Law Review, Jonathan earned his undergraduate degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Jonathan then clerked for the Honorable John F. Nangle of the U.S. District Court in the Southern District of Georgia before joining Love Willingham Peters Gilleland & Monyak LLC. In 2006, Jonathan joined Foltz Martin where he flourished in its litigation practice for seven years. However, Jonathan has not limited himself to private practice. During the 2010 Legislative Session, Jonathan served in an advisory role as Legal Counsel to the Judiciary Committee of the Georgia House of Representatives and currently serves as Outside Counsel to the Georgia Transparency and Campaign Finance Commission.
Clients and peers alike have consistently acknowledged Jonathan as an outstanding lawyer, which has led to several distinguished legal recognitions including his most recent recognition as a SuperLawyers Rising Star in 2013.
When asked about his transition, Jonathan says, "I am excited to join Krevolin & Horst and look forward to continuing my business litigation practice there. The firm has a superb reputation and I am honored to work with such a great team."
