During this past Holiday Season, the attorneys and staff of Mandelbaum Salsburg, P.C., a law firm based in West Orange, New Jersey, came together to help make the season a bit brighter for those less fortunate.  The Firm sponsored three holiday collection drives, partnering with the “Jersey Cares” coat drive, a toy drive for the benefit of the Jersey Battered Women’s Shelter and a food drive assisting the local West Orange Food Pantry.  The Firm’s enthusiasm and commitment brought terrific results as people reached into their closets, food pantries and hearts to donate 126 coats, 129 toys and more than 180 pounds of food, all of which was collected and delivered to the partner organizations.  The Firm was fortunate to team up with The Turtle Back Zoo, also located in West Orange, which donated truckloads of goods, including more than 400 coats and over 500 toys.  To cap the holiday giving, Mandelbaum Salsburg personnel decided to forego their usual exchange of “Secret Santa” gifts at the Firm’s annual holiday luncheon and instead donated $1,280, which was divided between the Market Street Mission in Morristown, New Jersey and the Community Food Bank of New Jersey in Hillside, New Jersey.

The Firm’s Charity Committee is working to ensure that the holiday spirit and assistance to the community continues all year round.   On February 29th, Mandelbaum Salsburg will support the first of several “denim days”, where, for a $5.00 donation to the charity selected, employees are permitted to wear jeans to work on the designated day.  The first denim day will support “American Heart Association – Wear Red Day” and employees are being asked to wear something red along with the denim.  Several other denim days are being planned throughout as well as other charitable activities, including a team walk to support The Valerie Fund in June.
