William F. Ward, a former Judge of the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County, PA, has been invited to join the Board of Directors of the Autism Connection of Pennsylvania. While on the bench, Judge Ward served in the Family Division and worked closely with families who had autistic children. Judge Ward also contributed to the development of a training manual for Juvenile Probation Officers that focused on “Juvenile Justice & Autism Spectrum Disorders.” He also serves as a Member of the Mental Health and Justice Advisory Committee of the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency.
Mr. Ward will commence his service as a Director on March 21, 2016. "We are so grateful to have the expertise, compassion, and multiple areas of true autism understanding Bill Ward brings to the Autism Connection of PA organization. Our autistic adults and families with children are going to benefit greatly from the guidance he will provide as a member of our Board of Directors," said Luciana Randall, Executive Director of Autism Connection of Pennsylvania.
Mr. Ward is an attorney with the Pittsburgh firm Rothman Gordon. His practice areas include Mediation, White Collar Criminal Defense and Business and Commercial Litigation. Mr. Ward earned his B.A., cum laude, from the College of the Holy Cross and his J.D. from Temple University School of Law. Mr. Ward is an active member of the Allegheny County Bar (former Chair, Federal Court Section) and the Pennsylvania Bar Association. Mr. Ward resides in Mt. Lebanon with his wife where they raised their two children.
