Russell Advocaten B.V.
Because of relatively low retail rents and a large international public, more and more international retail chains are established in the Netherlands. Russell Advocaten will gladly advise entrepreneurs in the sectors of retail, fashion and luxury.
Due to a combination of low rents and a large international public, Dutch retail streets are highly appreciated. Tourist hotspot Amsterdam is by far the most attractive shopping destination in the Netherlands. Still, with EUR 2,900 per square metre, the lease in the Amsterdam Kalverstraat – the main retail street – is ten times lower than in New York and four times lower than in London or Paris. With EUR 2,050 per square metre, the lease of in the luxurious P.C. Hooftstraat, located close to the main tourist attractions Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum, is even lower.
Thus, international retailers find their way to Amsterdam to establish new (flagship) stores. All the more reason to open new stores in the Netherlands and in particular in Amsterdam, as consumer confidence and consumption show a stable upward trend. In addition, stores on prominent tourist locations suffer a less from the increasing online sales.
