Q & A with Fitri Nabilla Aulia

​Fitri Nabilla Aulia is an attorney with Leks&Co in Jakarta, Indonesia, focusing her practice in the Corporate and Commercial, Commercial Dispute Resolution, and Real Estate areas.

Q: Before becoming an attorney, what was your first job?

A: Being an attorney is my first job. After graduating from college, I immediately worked at Leks&Co as an intern and then I was promoted to become a trainee associate.

Q: What motivated you to pursue a legal career?

A: I like to learn many things. The legal career requires me to study continuously to be able to adapt with the world of law that continuously grows.

Q: Who was your chief mentor and how did he or she influence your career?

A: My Managing Partner, Eddy M. Leks, is my mentor in starting my legal career. With his thoroughness and extensive knowledge, Mr. Eddy is always willing to share his knowledge and have discussions with his colleagues.

Q: What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

A: To always be disciplined and careful, and you must always be willing to learn to develop.

Q: What is one thing you would like to learn to do?

A: I want to continue to learn to explore various kinds of sections in the science of law.

Q: What is your proudest career achievement?

A: To get involved in resolving international cases.

Q: What other career path might you have chosen?

A: Since childhood, I wanted to be a doctor. However, both doctors and lawyers need the desire to continue learning. So, I have no regrets about becoming a lawyer.

Q: What do you do to give back to your community?

A: I want to be able to share the knowledge I have with people who still have difficulty understanding the law.

A: The opportunity to meet many inspiring lawyers from various countries and to know the legal issues of other countries.

Q: What is your most treasured material possession?

A: Family.

Q: What is your happiest childhood memory?

A: To gather with a complete small family and share stories.

A: Movie: “Suits.”

Book: “The Things You Can See Only When You Slow Down” by Haemin Sunim.

Q: What is the most awe-inspiring place you have visited?

A: I always have liked Penglipuran Village in Bali.

Q: What are your favorite leisure time pursuits?

A: Read books and watch movies.

Q: What is your favorite famous or inspirational quote?

A: “A person who never made a mistake never tried anything new.” ~ Albert Einstein

Q: Who is on your guest list for the ideal dinner party?

A: My family, my closest friend, and other inspiring people.

Q: What are the top three items on your bucket list?

A: Success in career. Make my family proud. Share knowledge with the community, and the knowledge that I share is very useful for them.
