Pinilla, González & Prieto Abogados
Bogota, Colombia

The Pro Bono Colombia Foundation awarded Pinilla, González & Prieto Abogados as Pro Bono Firm of the Year in recognition of its enormous social commitment and outstanding achievements during 2022.

The Foundation set a goal of 25 Pro Bono cases for the firms linked to this cause this year, but in addition to meeting it since April, PGP reached 49 new Pro Bono cases attended to at the end of the year, that is, almost twice the established goal.

The delivery of this recognition, which Julián Rojas and Valentina Almonacid received as PGP Pro Bono leaders, is due to the achievement of three objectives defined and evaluated by the Foundation:

  1. The most significant number of hours dedicated to Pro Bono work is based on a quarterly follow-up that allows for establishing the time invested by each lawyer.
  2. The qualification of the beneficiaries because they highlight the quality of the work carried out by the PGP lawyers.
  3. The performance of the Firm's Coordinator and Pro Bono Partner, roles performed by Valentina Almonacid and Julián Rojas, junior attorney and partner in the Corporate Law area, respectively.

"We are very grateful for this recognition. For PGP, solidarity and love for service are fundamental pillars, so this achievement demonstrates our social commitment to vulnerable populations and the country. Furthermore, the award exalts the dedication of our lawyers to the Probono causes", says Valentina Almonacid.

For her part, Ana María Arboleda, director of the Pro Bono Foundation, affirms that "the Fundación Pro Bono Colombia delivers the Pro Bono Awards as a way of recognizing those who worked for hand in hand with the Foundation to reduce the barriers to access to justice. The award given to Pinilla González & Prieto Abogados as Pro Bono Firm of the Year, highlights its high commitment to corporate social responsibility, its support for the work of the Foundation, and the increase in the number of cases taken, motivating pro bono work among all their lawyers. It is undoubtedly a great job that, in 2022, helped more than 60 pro bono clients achieve legal advice of the best quality. PGP supports all the initiatives the Pro Bono Foundation leads; its lawyers also accompany individual cases and legal brigades in the territory. It is truly a luxury to have them as members. However, they have a partner and a pro bono coordinator who make a great team, and their support for the Foundation's activities is always positive".
