After working as a Policy Analyst for the Department of Education and teaching English and History in the public school system, Vince decided his talents were best suited to the field of law. Vince began his legal career in 1981 articling as a Crown Prosecutor for the Federal Department of Justice. Preferring to serve clients rather than handling Public Prosecutions, in 1984 he relocated to Winnipeg’s Corydon Avenue and established the law firm of Bueti Aquila, which later evolved into Bueti Baumstark. After 23 years with offices on Corydon, Vince decided to join his law school colleague Tom Frohlinger and the firm of PKF effective January 1, 2008.

Before becoming a lawyer Vince had completed four University degrees in Education, Political Science and Law. This led him into the world of politics and public service the consequence of which was being elected to the Winnipeg School Division and becoming its Chairman of the Board. Vince continues to have an interest in all levels of politics and civic affairs and has participated in many campaigns over the years.

In addition to his interest in politics, Vince has been extensively involved in his local community by volunteering his time and talents to many groups, Associations and Boards. Notably, he has served as the President of the Corydon Business Improvement Zone for seven years and it was under his stewardship that the beautification of the Avenue resulted in its becoming one of Winnipeg’s best known destinations. He has also served for two terms as the President and Legal Counsel to the Winnipeg Biz Association which is composed of our City’s 15 Business Improvement Zones. At the same time, Vince has not forgotten his former training and for many years participated in the City of Winnipeg Community Education Program as an instructor of real estate law.

Culturally, Vince has been a leader in Winnipeg’s Italian Canadian Community. He has served for a number of terms as the President of the Order of Sons of Italy, the Community’s flagship fraternal / charitable organization. As well, nationally he is the Order’s Immediate Past President and regularly attends its National Council which is based in the Toronto region. He continues to be highly active at both levels and also finds the time to serve as the President of the Centro Caboto Cultural Centre on Wilkes Avenue which is a multi-million dollar commercial facility. Vince has received many honours and awards from numerous community organizations and the City of Winnipeg.

Concurrent with his extensive civic involvement, over the years Vince has developed a broad clientele within the Italian, Philipino and Vietnamese communities, in particular, as well as the community at large. Serving both private citizens and businesses, including many not-for-profit organizations and associations, Vince’s practice has been broad and varied and has involved both solicitor’s work and Court work. He has argued cases before all levels of Manitoba’s Courts and has represented clients before practically all quasi-judicial Boards and Tribunals. Given Vince’s background and skills he also assists clients with legal transactions in Italy and is often called upon by the Italian Vice Counsel in this regard.

When Vince is not representing clients or serving on a volunteer Board, Vince’s home life centers around his wife, son and daughter all of whom are teachers, plus the family’s mischievous Bichon Frisé - “Bella”.
