Mwangi holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree (Honours – Upper Division) from the University of Nairobi, a Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law and a Masters in Law Degree (LL.M), in European and International Law from the University of Bremen, Germany. He also holds a Diploma in German Language (DSH) from the University of Bremen in Germany. He is also well-trained in strategic leadership, management, governance and legal and regulatory affairs.

Mwangi is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya having been so admitted in March 2003. He heads the Corporate Commercial and Conveyancing Department thereby specializing in , banking and financial services law, public private partnerships, cross-border practice, entertainment law, security documentation creation and review, assorted legal opinions on diverse issues in relation to banking and financial services institutions, legal risk profiling, updates on legal, regulatory and compliance issues and changes in legislation; structuring credit facilities, negotiating commercial agreements including asset finance, syndicated loans, and bills discounting agreements etc; incorporation of business entities, re-capitalization, mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures, intellectual property rights including trademarks, patents, industrial designs etc; conveyancing and securities on immovable properties, advising commercial and residential property developers on compliance and financing arrangements, training of financial institutions and so on.

He is a member of the Law Society of Kenya, East Africa Law Society, the Commonwealth Lawyers Association and KAAD Scholars of East Africa. Mwangi has consistently been listed in Chambers Global: The Directory of World’s Leading Lawyers for Business and has been a contributor for International Law Office. He is a former Guest Lecturer at the Kenya School of Law, Nairobi.

Mwangi sits in several corporate boards in the financial and leadership sectors and has great interest in the Education Sector especially in e-learning. He has been and continues to sit in several Education Institutions Boards, including teachers training colleges, High Schools and the District Education Board.. In his spare time Mr. Mwangi enjoys reading, travelling and motor racing.
