Ms. Strax’s practice focuses on insurance and subrogation-related litigation, including complex wrongful death and non-subscriber claims. Prior to joining Downs & Stanford, Ms. Strax practiced extensively in the field of workers’ compensation, handling all manner of disputes before the Texas Department of Insurance Division of Workers’ Compensation. Ms. Strax also has experience in cases involving civil and criminal defense, professional license defense before the Texas Board of Medical Examiners and the Texas Board of Nursing, real estate, and oil and gas. She has been practicing law in the State of Texas since 2010 and has been a certified mediator since 2016.

Ms. Strax was born and raised in Houston, Texas, where she completed her high school education at one of the top preparatory schools in the country, St. John’s School. Afterwards, she graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Texas at Austin, and received the distinguished honor of being accepted into the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. She continued her education, receiving her Juris Doctorate from South Texas College of Law, where she received two AmJur awards.
