Andrew Winkless graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Classics from the University of Manitoba in 1997. Following graduation, he worked from 1998 to 2001 in the town of Daitou in Shimane prefecture in Japan as an English Teacher with the JET Program. Upon his return to Canada, he graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Manitoba in 2007. He articled in Carman and has practiced there ever since, serving clients in the areas of corporate-commercial, tax and estate planning, and real estate. Andrew has conducted continuing education seminars for the Law Society of Manitoba, the Manitoba Bar Association, and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.

A lifelong enthusiast for Japanese culture, Andrew practiced Judo until graduating high school, and earned a first degree black belt in Kendo while in Japan. He has continued his study of the Japanese language since his return to Canada, and in 2018 passed the Japanese Language Proficiency Test at the N2 Level.
