Amy Bedell’s practice focuses on commercial litigation and appeals, where she represents individuals and businesses in state and federal courts.  Prior to joining Lewis Johs, Amy was a solo practitioner handling a variety of general matters for individuals and small businesses.  Amy was previously associated with a mid-sized Long Island law firm, where she worked in the litigation practice group handling all aspects of commercial cases.  Earlier in her career, Amy was associated with a large international law firm in Manhattan, where she was a member of the appellate team that successfully appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court on behalf of a major health insurance company in a multi-district class action lawsuit.  Amy has also served as a habeas law clerk to the Honorable Arthur D. Spatt, the Honorable Denis R. Hurley, and the Honorable Joanna Seybert in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York.  She is admitted to practice in the State of New York and before the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York. 

Amy is a graduate of Hofstra University School of Law (J.D. with distinction), where she was Managing Editor of the Hofstra Law Review. Upon graduation, the faculty awarded Amy the William Eric Goldberg Scholarship in recognition of her leadership and contribution to the law school.

Amy is a Director of the Suffolk County Women's Bar Association and previously served as its Vice President (2009-2011) and Corresponding Secretary (2008-2009). She is a member of the Women's Bar Association of the State of New York and has served as a co-chair of its Newsletter Committee and as a member of its Nominations Committee.   She is also a member of the Suffolk County Bar Association and the LGBT Bar Association of Greater New York (LeGaL).
