1)    Evernote

Cost: FREE

Evernote is a great app to boost productivity.  This app allows you to take bits of information as it comes in and collect it in a single location for later use.

One reviewer of the Evernote App made the following analogy:

“Think of Evernote as a backpack full of notebooks and every piece of scrap paper you have ever scribbled on.  Imagine you could search the content of notes you wrote to yourself months or even years ago?  You can . . .”

This is entirely true as this free app allows you to create “notes” within a “notebook.”  Each notebook you create houses notes for a particular topic or use.  Once a note is created, information can be added to that note over time.  This includes adding not only text to the note, but also adding webpages, photos, screenshots, audio clips, etc.  Later, when you are ready to accomplish whatever task a note was set up for, you have all the information in one spot, neatly organized.

2)    Court Days

Cost: $ 0.99

Court Days is an app created by a lawyer for lawyers.  It is a very straightforward app that allows you to quickly calculate the number of court days or calendar days before or after a given date.

The app allows you to pick the jurisdiction that you are in so that the applicable holidays are taken into consideration.  Furthermore, you can add a customized list of holidays if any are missing.

In addition to allowing you to calculate a single date on which a motion is due, the app allows you to calculate sequential dates as well.  Once you have calculated your dates, the app features an email option in which you can email yourself (or someone else) the dates that are determined in the app.

Although, this app can save a lot of time calculating dates, the dates should always be verified.

3)    Waze

Cost:  FREE

In a profession where deadlines and being on time are incredibly important, Waze is an app that can help you make it where you need to be on time.   Waze is one of the largest community based traffic and navigation apps.  It was bought by Google in 2013 for just over a billion dollars.

Waze works by gathering data from drivers that leave the app open while commuting.  In addition, Waze gathers information from drivers that submit reports on the conditions of the road including accidents, hazards, etc.  After taking into consideration the data gathered, Waze is able to give you the quickest, most up to date route to your destination.  Furthermore, the app works much the same as a regular GPS, in that it provides turn-by-turn voice guided navigation.

4)    ScannerPro

Cost:  $2.99

ScannerPro allows you to transform your iPhone into a portable scanner.  By taking a picture of a paper document with the app, you can convert it into a PDF that can be emailed or printed.  This is helpful in keeping documents all in one place, allowing paper copies to be quickly sent, and also keeping track of receipts.
