Christian & Small LLP (Birmingham, AL) is pleased to announce that partner, LaBella S. Alvis, was recently inducted into the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) at its annual meeting on October 13, 2010.

ABOTA is a national association of experienced trial lawyers and judges. ABOTA and its members are dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the civil jury trial right. ABOTA membership consists of more than 6,300 lawyers and judges in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. Membership in ABOTA is by invitation only to trial lawyers who have demonstrated exceptional skills in jury trials and who meet stringent standards of professionalism.

For more than 25 years, Alvis has been successfully litigating cases in State and Federal courts. Alvis is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell and has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America for personal injury litigation, named as one of Top 25 Women Lawyers in Alabama in 2008 by Alabama Super Lawyers and a “Litigation Star” by Benchmark Litigation.

Alvis’ practice is devoted to Professional Liability, Liquor Liability, Transportation (Aviation and Trucking) and coverage cases. Her work with Professional Liability has included hundreds of EEOC and Employment Liability claims, Medical Malpractice Defense and Construction/Architect Liability.

Alvis is a graduate of Auburn University, the University of Houston and Cumberland School of Law. LaBella is the third partner from Christian & Small to be inducted into ABOTA. She joins Tom W. Christian and Clarence M. Small.
