As we all continue to endure the coronavirus situation as best we can, it’s great to see how our members continue to help those in their local communities.

When Michigan’s governor ordered everyone to stay home at the end of March, the Buchanan Firm team quickly arranged a Zoom conference call to brainstorm ideas of community involvement. The team had planned on volunteering at Feeding America that week, so they had to come up with new ideas to help the community without violating the governor’s orders.  Caiti Hill, the firm’s intake specialist, donated blood that week. Legal assistant Shelly Sichta, picked up her knitting needles to knit hats for babies in the NICU. Attorney Rob Buchanan developed an idea for a trivia night with Buchanan Firm family and friends to keep spirits lifted and engage in socialization a different way.  Finally, paralegal Leslie Caliguri developed a social media program to support local small businesses struggling with the forced closure. The Buchanan Firm “Support Local” giveaway ran the entire month of April, giving away a gift card to a local restaurant or small business to a Buchanan Firm Facebook follower.  The firm has decided to continue their community involvement and uplifting social media giveaways and events throughout the month of May.  Give them a follow on Facebook (www.facebook.com/buchananfirm)  to see a serious injury law firm that is really engaging with its community and audience and truly embracing the Primerus motto “Good People Who Happen to Be Good Lawyers.”

Here is another example of a Primerus member doing good for their local community. Primerus member, Mark Tate – Tate Law Group (Savannah, Georgia), along with the Grand Lake Club at Southbridge, donated and delivered home-cooked meals for the staff at the Savannah Area Family Emergency (SAFE) shelter. SAFE offers 24/7 shelter services for victims of domestic violence and their children.  This act of kindness was published in the Savannah Morning News – to read the full story click here. Well done, Mark and the team at Grand Lake Club!

These are only a couple of examples of our members selflessly offering to help those in need. Please share your news with us and examples of how you/your colleagues are giving back to those in need.
