Merryl E. Steinberg is a partner in Barton’s Matrimonial and Family Law practice.

Merryl’s extensive practice involves matters concerning equitable distribution of assets, including cases involving complex financial issues, issues of custody, spousal support, child support and visitation.

Merryl is responsive to the emotional and financial challenges that matrimonial and family law matters can pose. She is committed to minimizing those challenges through responsible and consistent representation of her clients combined with constant communication, compassion, and empathy. Committed to working collaboratively and crafting a settlement, when possible, Merryl is also well versed in all facets of litigation and is experienced in handling each aspect of a case from inception to conclusion. Merryl’s individual client’s needs and goals are continually her primary concern, and she believes in providing a strategic and personalized approach to each case.

Merryl received her Juris Doctorate from New York Law School when she interned for the Honorable John Stackhouse, J.S.C., while he served on the Matrimonial Bench, and she has exclusively practiced family and matrimonial law since graduating law school. She also received her Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Before joining Barton, Merryl was a partner at Moses Richards Notaro & Tankha, LLP in New York and previously was a partner in the New York office of Dobrish Michaels Gross LLP for over a decade.
