Liz Powell has practiced exclusively in the area of workers' compensation defense since she was admitted to the Minnesota bar in 1991. She received her law degree from William Mitchell College of Law in 1991 and graduated from the University of Wisconsin--Madison in 1988 with a journalism degree with distinction.

Ms. Powell is particularly experienced in litigating and auditing complex, multi-volume high exposure cases. She has developed a unique ability to thoroughly analyze these cases, and provide ongoing handling recommendations to the claims professional. She manages most of the Firm’s cases involving Special Compensation Fund and Workers’ Compensation Reinsurance Association reimbursements. The Firm’s clients appreciate her comprehensive approach and attention to detail in her evaluations, reporting her aggressive courtroom work.

Ms. Powell represents employers and insurers before the Department of Labor and Industry, Office of Administrative Hearings and Workers' Compensation Court of Appeals. She is admitted to practice before all Minnesota courts and the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota.
