Joshua Kershaw is a valued member of the Compensation Law team at Carroll & O’Dea Lawyers. Joshua is based in Carroll & O’Dea Lawyers’ Newcastle office.

Joshua has qualifications in Business as well as Law, which has equipped him with the ability to understand commercial and financial factors in legal matters.

Joshua values clear and precise communication and transparency with his clients, to ensure they can have complete and proper access to justice within the Australian legal system.

Joshua has a particular interest in exploring how the law interacts with the LGBTQIA+ community, and what can be done to improve their access to legal advice.

“People usually interact with the law at some of the worst times in their lives. I aim to work collaboratively with my clients to ensure they have the support required to navigate the legal system in these times”.

  • Joshua was admitted into the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 2024.
  • Joshua began working as a Law Clerk at Carroll & O’Dea Lawyers in 2021 and was made a Paralegal at Carroll & O’Dea Lawyers in 2023.
  • Joshua completed a Bachelor of Business majoring in Politics, a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) with First Class Honours, and a Diploma of Legal Practice from the University of Newcastle in 2023.
  • Joshua is a member of the Law Society of Newcastle and the Law Society of New South Wales.
