Smith Debnam Narron Drake Saintsing & Myers, LLPis proud to announce that Lynn Wilson Lupton, Adam Gottsegen, Alicia Jurney Whitlock, and Samuel Fleder, attorneys with the firm, have been listed as 2013 Rising Stars in North Carolina Super Lawyers®. Rising Stars recognizes accomplished attorneys who are 40 or under, or who have been practicing for 10 years or less. Lynn, Adam, Alicia, and Sam were nominated for this recognition by fellow lawyers, who have personally observed them in action — whether as opposing counsel or co-counsel, or through other firsthand courtroom observation. Upon nomination, an attorney-led research team reviewed their credentials and evaluated them based on a defined set of evaluation criteria. The Rising Stars were listed in the 2013 edition of the North Carolina Super Lawyers® publication.

A partner with the firm, Lynn Wilson Lupton focuses her practice in the area of family law. Since beginning her practice in 2003, Lynn regularly represents individuals in matters regarding domestic law including divorce, child custody, and related issues. She is a Board Certified Family Law Specialist by the North Carolina State Bar Board of Legal Specialization. Lynn earned her J.D. from Campbell University Law School and her B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is active in the Family Law sections of the North Carolina Bar Association and Wake County Bar Association as well as the Raleigh Chamber of Commerce and the Leadership Raleigh Alumni Association. Lynn serves a local non-profit agency by providing pro bono legal assistance.

Adam Gottsegen, a partner with the firm, concentrates his practice in bankruptcy and creditors' rights. Adam represents a variety of businesses in the lending and financing industry who seek to protect their contractual rights and security interests. Adam earned his J.D. at Wake Forest University School of Law and his B.A. from Vanderbilt University. In 2011, Adam was selected for an Emerging Legal Leader Award through North Carolina Lawyer's Weekly, recognizing young lawyers who are making a difference both in the profession and in their communities. He serves as the President of the Board of Directors for the Rotary Club of North Raleigh, is on the Young Alumni Board of the Wake Forest University School of Law, and is part of the Leadership Raleigh Alumni Association.

Alicia Jurney Whitlock is a North Carolina Bar Board Certified Family Law Specialist and focuses her practice in family law and is experienced in representing clients in child custody, child support, domestic violence, equitable distribution, and alimony matters. Alicia is an alumna of the firm’s summer associate program, graduating from Campbell Law with honors and earning her B.A. from Wake Forest University. Alicia is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association where she serves on the Legislative Committee and as Co-Chair of the Family Law Section Children's Issues Committee; Wake County Bar Association Ask-a-Lawyer Day Chair; and Chair of the Board of Directors for Haven House Services, a non-profit agency that helps struggling young people and their families develop positive and successful relationships at home, at school and in the community. She was also selected as a Legal Elite in Business North Carolina magazine.

Samuel D. Fleder is licensed in both North and South Carolina and is a member of the firm’s Creditors’ Rights practice group, concentrating his practice in the areas of Business Litigation, Commercial Creditor Bankruptcy, Construction Law, Creditors' Rights and Collections, Equipment Leasing & Finance, Foreclosures, and Lender Liability Defense. Sam earned his J.D., cum laude, from Campbell University, his M.B.A., summa cum laude, from Campbell University, and his B.A. from Duke University. He is a member of the North Carolina Banker’s Association, Board member of the Wake County Bar Association, Young Lawyers Division, and is active with the Raleigh Chamber of Commerce Young Professional’s Network.
