Ze Gao

Ms.Gao is a partner at Watson & Band Law Offices in Shanghai.

Graduated from Fudan University with an LLB degree, Ms. Gao was sent to the United Kingdom by the Shanghai Justice Bureau and received an LLM in commercial and e-commerce law from the University of Hertfordshire (UK) with specialties in company law and information technology protection. 

Ms. Gao specializes in corporate governance, M&A, BOT, FIDIC and FCPA issues. She has a long-term commitment to corporate legal affairs and she intimately understands the rules of company operation. Ms. Gao specializes in corporate governance, legal risk control and prevention, contract review, legal training seminars, legal due diligence and legal advice for specific projects. 

Ms. Gao has led negotiations for several large-scale projects for BOT and FIDIC contracts, each involving over 50 million RMB. She is also a skilled lecturer and has often spoken on corporate law, contract law, the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and other legal issues for her clients. Her presentations are detailed and practical, and are favored by senior corporate managers and staff alike.

Ms. Gao has gained rich experience in civil and commercial litigation, particularly contract disputes, dealing with 60-80 corporate or contract disputes per year.  With her acute sense of responsibility, patient and meticulous nature and good negotiating skills, she has frequently been able to devise win-win solutions that benefit both economy and society.

Ms. Gao’s academic treatises have been selected as guiding essays for seminars presented by the Civil Law Committee of the National Bar Association and periodicals such as Thesis Collection from the Civil Committee of the All-China Lawyers’ Association and Practical Legal Opinions on Civil and Commercial Law.

Since December 2008, Ms. Gao has served as writer for the Attorney’s Answers column in the Shanghai Enterprise Confederation Magazine.
