Professional experience
David Billeter has been practising as an attorney at Suter Howald Attorneys at Law Ltd. since 2025. He specialises in financial market, corporate and contract law, advising clients in particular on regulatory compliance and the drafting of complex contractual arrangements. Drawing on his previous experience at the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority FINMA, as a partner and consultant in specialised law firms, and as in-house counsel at a major Swiss bank, he possesses comprehensive and in-depth expertise in his areas of specialisation.
In parallel with his professional practice, he conducted research from 2022 to 2024 as a lead project partner at the University Research Priority Program (URPP) “Financial Market Regulation” at the University of Zurich on topics of financial market law. From 2015 to 2022, he was also a regular guest lecturer in financial market law at the University of St. Gallen (HSG) and continues to teach occasionally in his areas of expertise. He publishes regularly on issues relating to financial and capital market law.
