Tyler Mathews is an Associate whose practice focuses on the defense of commercial, construction, insurance coverage, premises liability, product liability, and transportation matters.
Prior to joining Lipe Lyons, Mr. Mathews gained experience across both criminal and civil litigation in Chicago. Most recently, he served in the Federal Aviation Administration’s Enforcement Division, where he drafted responsive pleadings, dispositive motions, and appellate briefs, and issued civil penalties for violations of FAA regulations. His experience also includes trial preparation, such as drafting motions in limine and jury instructions, preparing witnesses, and participating in informal enforcement conferences.

He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law in 2024 and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and International Economics from Murray State University. Following his undergraduate studies, Mr. Mathews served as a Community and Organizational Development Specialist with the United States Peace Corps in Moldova and later as an AmeriCorps VISTA programming specialist for a nonprofit organization in Arizona.
