Jason K. Murrie

Like his colleagues at Cornelius & Collins, Jason is first and foremost a litigator. Since receiving his law license in 2006, Jason has worked tirelessly to guide clients of all shapes and sizes through the complex and intimidating arena of civil litigation. Although Jason’s practice has an emphasis on personal injury and other tort cases, he frequently is retained to assist individuals and businesses in matters as varied as contractual disputes, construction litigation, and employment law. A firm believer in being proactive against any potential future litigation, Jason also advises a broad range of clients on personal and business issues. He represents plaintiffs and defendants, and is admitted to practice in all federal and state courts in Tennessee and Kentucky. Jason’s wide-ranging experience in a variety of civil litigation settings has earned the trust of his peers, who often refer matters to Jason for handling. Reflective of his reputation among colleagues, Super Lawyers named Jason one of the MidSouth’s Rising Stars for 2014 – a distinction limited to no more than 2.5% of practicing attorneys statewide.

Jason was elected to partnership in 2014, and is deeply involved in firm governance. He currently serves on the firm’s three member Executive Committee. Jason is also a member of the firm’s Marketing Committee in addition to chairing the Recruiting Committee. Jason came to Cornelius & Collins after practicing for two years in Kentucky. He is a graduate of the University of Louisville School of Law in Louisville, Kentucky. Jason obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Florida, where he graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in History.

In addition to his legal pursuits, Jason is an active member of the Nashville community. He was invited to participate in the 2014 Tennessee Bar Association Leadership Law program, comprised of select attorneys across the state tasked with discussing and developing improvements in the practice of law and in the community. Jason is also a 2009 alumnus of the Nashville Young Leaders Council, and served as a member of the Harry Phillips American Inns of Court from 2010-2012. He has volunteered in recent years as a youth baseball coach through the YMCA and Major League Baseball’s RBI program.

Jason resides with his wife, Katherine, and daughter, Nora, in East Nashville.
