On March 26, 2015, Edward DeVries obtained summary judgment on behalf of a Florida business in state court in Indiana.  In this case, the Plaintiffs allegedly sustained personal injuries and property damage when their personal residence located in Hammond, IN caught fire. Plaintiffs’ claim that the fire was caused by an electric can opener designed, manufactured, and/or sold by our client.  In their Second Amended Complaint at Law, Plaintiffs raised a single products liability count including allegations of negligence, strict liability, and breach of express and implied warranties against our client for the design, manufacture, and/or sale of an allegedly defective can opener.
