Smith Debnam is pleased to welcome Jonathan D. Rhyne as an associate with the firm. Jonathan concentrates his practice in the areas of creditors’ rights litigation and corporate law. He represents banks, mortgage companies, and other lending institutions in foreclosure proceedings and general civil litigation in the protection and enforcement of their rights as secured creditors. Jonathan also counsels corporate and small business clients through various stages of their growth including corporate formation, general corporate matters, and mergers and acquisitions. He works primarily with clients in the mobile software and related technology industries. Jonathan’s practice in this area focuses on drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex business agreements involving confidentiality, licensing, vendor/supplier, intellectual property, employment, corporate restructuring and trademark registration and protection.

Jonathan earned his JD from Campbell University School of Law and his BA in Political Science from North Carolina State University. Prior to joining Smith Debnam, Jonathan worked as an associate attorney at another law firm in their foreclosure practice group, was a solo practitioner, and interned at law firms, corporations, local government, and on Capitol Hill.
