Barton LLP is pleased to announce that Alan Gallanty has joined the firm as a Partner in its Litigation and Corporate practices.

For more than 30 years, Alan Gallanty has practiced as a business lawyer and litigator in New York and Connecticut. His wide range of experience runs the gamut of civil and business litigation, with a particular focus on the areas of banking, real estate, professional liability, business torts, and employment. He also has appeared in courts throughout the country. In addition, Alan has represented clients in a wide range of transactional matters, including the formation, merger and acquisition of numerous business entities; real estate and business financings; private equity investments; and leasing and other real estate transactions.

Alan frequently serves as outside general counsel for business clients, using his diverse experience to advise CEOs and entrepreneurs on their long-term plans and on the legal issues that confront their everyday operations. Along the way, with his pragmatic, cost-effective and business-oriented approach, Alan has become a problem solver — and problem avoider — for his clients, as well as a valued advisor in the development of his clients’ overall business and strategic planning.

His career experience has ranged from successfully representing large institutional clients, such as the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, in numerous federal and state court actions and before the Circuit Courts of Appeals, to advising clients in connection with their most significant corporate transactions and acquisitions, to assisting clients in formulating their business and strategic plans.

Alan has also been a frequent member of CLE faculties and served as the Legal Editor of the American Land Institute for Continuing Education. He also has an “AV Preeminent” peer review rating in Martindale, the highest rating in the legal profession for professional excellence and ethical standards.

Alan was previously Managing Partner of the New York City firm of Kantor Davidoff.
