Timothy D. Howell, one of the founding partners of Moses, Palmer & Howell, L.L.P., focuses his practice on commercial and general litigation, with experience before courts and arbitrators in a number of areas, including oil and gas law, contractual disputes, premises liability, products liability, banking matters, construction law, real estate disputes, and business tort claims. In addition to his litigation practice, Tim regularly handles issues involving construction and mineral contractor liens and is experienced in negotiating and advising on oil and gas leases, pipeline easements, surface use agreements and other energy-related matters.  He also regularly counsels individuals and companies in connection with transactions, entity formation and planning, non-compete agreements, and various other business issues.

Tim graduated first in his class at St. Mary’s School of Law.  Since beginning his practice, he has been recognized on multiple occasions as a "Rising Star" by Thomson Reuters (2004) and a "Texas Super Lawyer" by Thomson Reuters (2004, 2011-17) which appeared in Texas Monthly magazine and consistently has been named as a "Top Attorney" by Fort Worth, Texas Magazine (2007 and 2014-19) and by 360 West Magazine (2019). He currently serves as the Vice Chair of the Tarrant County Bar Association Energy Section, and is a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation and the Tarrant County Bar Foundation.  He has authored a number of legal articles on various topics, most recently serving as the co-author of a series of oil and gas articles published in Texas Lawyer.  On several occasions, he has worked with a group of local financial advisors in presenting businessKillers® – Avoiding the 6 Mistakes That Can Destroy Your Business & Your Future, which is aimed at helping small business owners identify risks and strategize on ways to increase and protect the value of their companies.

Within the community, Tim is actively involved with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Fort Worth, serving on its Board of Directors since 2013 and previously serving in a number of capacities (including President) on the board of the Clubs’ auxiliary entity, the Panther Club.  If not in the office or courtroom, Tim can often be found on a baseball field or basketball court, as he is actively involved with coaching his sons in local youth sports.  He has volunteered as a coach and sponsor at University Little League for almost a decade.  An avid TCU fan, Tim is a member of the TCU First Team and the Frog Club Advisory Board, as well as a long-time season ticket holder in football, baseball and basketball.
