R. Douglas DeNardo, Esq.
Summary:
Douglas DeNardo is a shareholder at Rothman Gordon and the Chairman of the Estates, Trusts and Taxation Department, and is a member of the firm’s Executive Committee. He represents individuals, professionals, and owners of closely-held businesses and professional corporations and associations, working with them to develop strategies to meet their wealth transfer goals. Doug also counsels professionals and business owners on comprehensive asset protection planning strategies, including domestic asset protection trusts. With the recent boom in Marcellus shale gas exploration, Doug has been assisting landowners in estate and income tax planning for lease bonuses and royalty payments. In addition, he represents charitable organizations in all facets, from formation to development efforts.
Doug has also developed an extensive knowledge of representing non-citizens and those with non-citizen spouses.
Doug also handles Orphans’ Court matters involving the administration of estates and trusts.
Doug is a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. He has been named a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer every year since its inception in 2004 and is listed in The Best Lawyers in America. Doug earned his B.S., cum laude, and his J.D., cum laude, from Duquesne University. He also served as a senior staff member of the Duquesne University Law Review from 1987-88.
Active in the community, Doug is a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association and the Pennsylvania Bar Association. He serves as Treasurer of the Board of Directors of Circle C. Youth and Family Services; is the Chairman of the Moon Township Zoning Hearing Board; is a member of the Professional Advisory Board of the Pittsburgh Foundation; is a member of the Planned Giving Advisory Board of the Diocese of Pittsburgh, and is the President of the Steel City Selects Girls Hockey Association.
