Elizabeth Ngonde holds a Bachelor of Arts in Laws (Political Science, Economics and Sociology) and LLB from University of Mysore – Karnataka, India and a Post Graduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law.

She handles civil and commercial litigation for banks, a leading telecommunication company, insurance companies and individual clients. Elizabeth has successfully defended a financial services regulator in a suit seeking damages for alleged breach of statutory duties.  Elizabeth also handles: Judicial Review and Constitutional disputes, Land and Environment disputes, Succession matters, Estate Planning and Administration of estates.

Being the Firm’s lead in succession matters, Elizabeth offers training to the Firm’s clientele on drafting of Wills and Estate Planning.

Elizabeth has also drafted the Retirement Benefits Scheme Rules for a leading multinational insurance company with respect to establishment of its Umbrella Scheme and further guided the company in setting up of a number its investment products. She is thus well-versed in advising clients in settlement of investments and insurance policies when there are multiple conflicting claims.

Additionally, Elizabeth has vast experience in successfully representing the Firm’s clients in Statutory Tribunals such as the Public Procurement Administrative Review Board, HIV & AIDS Tribunal, Business Premises Rent Tribunal as well as a number of Arbitral Tribunals. She has also acted for clients to challenge and /or enforce arbitral awards.

Elizabeth is passionate about the employer –employee relationship and represents both employers and employees in employment disputes. She also offers legal support to Human Resource Departments through guidance in drafting and review of employees’ Handbooks or Human Resource Manuals as well as employment contracts. The aforesaid guidance is undertaken with a view to promote legal awareness and prevent employment disputes. Where disputes arise, Elizabeth offers legal support for internal management of such employees’ disputes and disciplinary procedures.

She is currently serving in the Bar Bench Committees for the High Court of Kenya- Family Division and the Employment and Labour Relations Court. She is also a member of the Firm’s Administration and Human Resource Committee and is a qualified Professional Mediator.
