Ed began his career as a law clerk for the Honorable Richard D. Cudahy of the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, and then practiced as a trial attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice, and as an Assistant United States Attorney and Special Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Colorado. As a federal prosecutor, he was involved in the prosecution of a wide variety of cases, including the assassination of a federal judge, the first racketeering case filed in United States District Court for the District of Colorado, and various white collar criminal cases, including bank fraud, securities fraud and tax fraud. During his tenure as a prosecutor, Ed received the U.S. Department of Justice Special Achievement Award, the United States Attorney General Commendation, and the United States Attorney Distinguished Service Award.

Ed has a broad litigation practice and has successfully tried numerous jury and bench trials in federal and state courts, and has practiced in Federal and State Courts of Appeals, and before arbitration tribunals. He also has extensive experience in all aspects of commercial transactions, including purchase and sale agreements, real estate, leasing, construction, employment, insurance, partnership and corporate agreements, secured lending and contracts.
