PRACTICE/EXPERIENCE
Ms. Moniz’ practice emphasizes the defense of medical negligence claims and health care law – including medical staff issues and professional licensing.
Defense of Medical Negligence Claims – Ms. Moniz has obtained excellent results defending medical negligence claims on behalf of urban and rural hospitals and other health care providers in Western Washington. This includes defense of cases involving brain damaged infants.
Hospital Law – Ms. Moniz is consulted on a regular basis by hospitals regarding practice issues. She also advises on medical staff bylaws, policies and procedures, physician credentialing and risk management.
Professional Licensing – Ms. Moniz represents health care providers who are investigated or charged by the Department of Health.
Ms. Moniz is frequently invited to speak to various health care professionals regarding malpractice, peer review, risk management, licensing and AIDS. She has also published in professional books and journals.

Born in Providence, Rhode Island, Ms. Moniz was raised in various parts of the world. She has resided in Seattle since 1974.
Ms. Moniz is admitted to practice in the State of Washington and the United States District Court, Eastern and Western District of Washington.
Ms. Moniz is an Affiliate Assistant Professor at the University of Washington.
