Omid Abaei represents a range of clients in litigation, including creditors’ rights, construction disputes, and contract claims.

Before joining Gordon Arata in 2023, Omid clerked for the Honorable Magistrate Judge Anne T. Berton in the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas where he drafted orders resolving dispositive and non-dispositive motions pending in front of the court and conducted research on various issues and mediation negotiations. He also clerked at the Texas Civil Rights Project where he researched and wrote memoranda on immigration law and voting rights.

In law school, Omid served as Associate Editor of the Texas Journal on Civil Liberties and Civil Rights and competed on Mock Trial and Moot Court. He graduated cum laude in Finance from the University of Houston where he was on the Debate Team, Student Government, and served as Copy Editor and News Reporter for The Daily Cougar.

When not practicing law, Omid volunteers with the Houston Urban Debate League Young Professionals Council, plays chess, and is an avid Houston sports fan.
