As I look at what’s happening in the world with the COVID situation, businesses evolving to survive, families adjusting to a “new normal,” I observe one constant – Primerus members continually give back and support those in need within their local communities. These small acts of kindness go so far in making a difficult situation somewhat manageable.

Each week our team reviews our members’ websites and social media posts to find updates that fall into the category of “Good People Doing Good Things.” Below you will find an example of Primerus member, Ganfer Shore Leeds & Zauderer LLP (New York, NY), and some individual examples of lawyers in this firm giving back to their local community for charitable causes and pro bono-related activities.

Ganfer Shore Leeds & Zauderer LLP – New York, NY

Ganfer Shore Leeds & Zauderer LLP is working within the New York Bar on how the current situation affects practices and looking at potential solutions to assist their members. This pro bono effort helps the profession and will ultimately help the public too.

Partner Mark Berman serves on the special committee formed by the New York Bar Association to present guidelines about re-opening law offices. Mark was recently appointed by the Chief Judge of New York to be co-chair of technology on her Commission to Reimagine the Future of New York's Courts.  He is also the editor of the first book in the nation post-pandemic on remote lawyering entitled Virtual Lawyering:  A Practical Guide, which is published by the New York State Bar Association.

Partner Matthew Leeds is and has contributed to efforts to to provide food for health care workers in New York City. Additionally, Matthew has been asked to chair a committee of the New York Bar Association Real Property Section that would deal with Covid-19 issues as they pertain to real property practice, including protocols for law offices and, in particular, the issue of whether the full Bar Association takes a position on supporting mandatory vaccinations, if and when they are available.

Individual attorneys in the firm have been charitable in their personal giving to support efforts of clients and others to help communicate in this difficult period.

Congratulations to Ganfer Shore Leeds & Zauderer LLP for their efforts to support their local community.
