Price.HenryPrice Waicukauski Principal Member Receives Distinguished Barrister Award

Price Waicukauski & Riley, LLC is pleased to announce that principal member Henry Price has received Indiana Lawyer’s Distinguished Barrister Award. The award honors 15 Indiana lawyers for their exceptional leadership both in the legal profession and in the community.

Henry graduated with honors from the University of Michigan Law School where he served as an editor of the Michigan Law Review, Winner of the Henry M. Campbell Moot Court Competition and placed 3rd in the National Moot Court Competition. Henry went on to Georgetown University Law School and received an LL.M. in Trial Advocacy, graduating first in his class.

As a trial lawyer, he has experienced extraordinary success in diverse areas of practice including antitrust, products liability, personal injury, civil rights, class actions, and commercial disputes. Henry has been recognized in Best Lawyers in America (1983-2014), Indiana Super Lawyers (2004-2014) and with an AV Rating from Martindale-Hubbell (highest rating for quality and ethics). In 2012, he received the Best Lawyers Lawyer of the Year Award for Litigation – Banking & Finance, Indianapolis.

Henry practiced with Barnes & Thornburg for 22 years handling many of their most challenging litigation cases, including antitrust, products liability, commercial disputes, personal injury litigation and civil rights and other cases. Mid-career, Henry switched to the plaintiff's side and successfully litigated class actions and other complex plaintiff's cases in Indiana and across the nation. In 1985, he started the firm, which became Price Waicukauski & Riley, LLC. Henry’s current practice concentrates primarily on class actions, commercial disputes, property rights, and personal injury litigation.

For many years, Henry devoted much time and energy to protecting the freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution in active leadership roles with the Indiana Civil Liberties Union both as President and as a lawyer actively pursuing constitutional cases. In 1979, Henry purchased and renovated the Hammond Block Building, which is located in the historic district of downtown Indianapolis. The renovation was recognized as an "Outstanding Contribution to the Beautification of Downtown Indianapolis" by the Commission for Downtown, Inc., and won the Merit Award of the Indianapolis Chapter, American Institute of Architects. It qualified and was placed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Price Hammond Block renovation led to the renaissance of Massachusetts Avenue as a business and restaurant district and demonstrated the positive effect renovation of a historic building can have on changing the character of a neighborhood.

Principal member Ron Waicukauski commented, “Henry is well deserving of this prestigious award. During the 50 years that Henry has been practicing law, he has earned a reputation as one of the best and smartest trial lawyers in Indiana with a zest and a style all of his own. Throughout his career, Henry has practiced law with extraordinary energy and exceptional dedication to his clients and our profession.”
