Matt joined the firm in 2017, and he works in the firm’s real estate and tax credit financing practice groups. Matt has particular experience in the structuring, negotiating, and management of projects which are financed with new market and historic tax credits.

Prior to his time at Rosenblum Goldenhersh, Matt was a Vice President at U.S. Bancorp Community Development Corporation, a leading tax credit equity investor. While at U.S. Bancorp, Matt led the unwind and disposition team, and Matt worked with community development entities, lenders, and developers in leading the negotiation, documentation and wind down of over fifty NMTC and HTC projects. These unwinds often involved workout scenarios, debt restructures, early exits, bond refinancing and distressed and troubled assets.

Matt also has experience in election and campaign finance law, renewable energy tax credit financing, governmental-related legal matters, banking law, and commercial and real estate litigation. He was appointed by the Governor of Missouri to the Truman State University Board of Governors in 2007, and he served in this capacity until 2013. He was appointed by the Governor of Missouri to the St. Louis County Board of Election Commissioners in 2017 for a term ending in 2021. He previously clerked for the Honorable Clifford Ahrens at the Eastern District of the Missouri Court of Appeals.
