Koen DE PUYDT graduated in 1998 as a Master in Communication Sciences and got his Masters Law Degree in 2002 (specialisation in Public Law) both at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. In 2009 he got a degree in Business Law at the University of Antwerp.

In 2002 Koen De Puydt joined a Brussels boutique law firm, specialised in administrative law (urban planning, environmental law, expropriations, public contracts, protective legislation). Meanwhile at dePuydt-vanCauwelaert he was responsible for all dossiers concerning commercial law and intellectual property law.

Two years later Koen De Puydt started working fulltime for dePuydt – vanCauwelaert. He was responsible for all matters concerning urban planning, environmental law, real estate law, public contract, construction law, property law, business law and intellectual property law. Koen De Puydt still publishes articles and papers on these domains.

In 2010 dePuydt-vanCauwelaert en GD+A Advocaten merged into GD&A-advocaten. As partner Koen de Puydt was head of the departments real estate law, construction law and business law.

Since 2002 Koen De Puydt has been a lecturer Contracts, Assignments and Mandates and Urban Planning and Environmental Law at Syntra Brussels in the real estate agents training. In the training for real estate experts he teaches construction law.

In August 2012 he established the law firm ORYS, together with four other partners. Koen De Puydt is also the initiator of the Vastgoedcodex (the Codex on Real Estate): a collection of legislation annually updated and known as the reference guide for real estate agents and real estate experts.
